What’s that? Another Final Fantasy game, you say? In that case, it’s time to get excited again. With a projected release date of early 2022, Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin promises a fresh spinoff game with a world-enveloping plot.
However, there are still a few months yet before its release. In that time, you should make sure that your system is capable of running the game when it comes out. You’ll want to make sure your major components, like your GPU, CPU, and RAM, are up to snuff.
To run Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, you’ll need at least 4GB of RAM and 110GB of available disk space. You’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or newer for your GPU, and for your CPU, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-4590 or newer. Also, you’ll want to be running Windows 10 64-bit or newer.
Square Enix has yet to release official system requirements, so what you see here are predictions based on what we know about the game so far.
Let’s talk more about the predicted minimum specs, recommended specs, and a top build for your Strangers of Paradise rig.
Minimum Part Requirements for Strangers of Paradise – Predicted
Memory | GPU | CPU | OS | Disk Space |
4 GB | NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960 | Intel Core i5-4590 | Windows 10 64-bit | 110 GB |
These are the predicted minimum specs your system needs to meet launch requirements. You’ll need at least 4GB of RAM and 110GB of available disk space. You’ll also want to be running Windows 10 64-bit or newer.
You’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD equivalent for your GPU, and an Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD equivalent for your CPU. These are predictions, but with these specs you should be able to at least run the game.
Recommended Specs and Top Build for Strangers of Paradise – Predicted
Memory | GPU | CPU | OS | |
Recommended | 8 GB | NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 | Intel Core i7-6700K | Windows 10 64-bit |
Top Build | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super | Intel Core i7-11700K | Windows 64-bit |
These are the predicted recommended specs for Strangers of Paradise, as well as a top build I put together. It’s recommended that you have 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, and an Intel Core i7-6700K. With these specs, you should be able to play Final Fantasy on medium settings.
For the best gaming experience, I recommend going for 16GB over 8GB for the performance boost. I also recommend going for the GTX 1660 Super for your GPU; it’s much more powerful than the 980 and will treat you better.
For your CPU, an i7 is sufficient, but I’d go for the 11th gen i7-11700K for the best performance. Hyper-threading and overclocking go a long way for games like these.
Best Laptops for Running Strangers of Paradise
Laptop | Memory | GPU | CPU | OS |
Acer Predator Helios 300 | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 | Intel Core i7-10750H | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
Razer Blade 15 Base | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 | Intel Core i7-10750H | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
MSI GL65 Leopard 10SFK-062 | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 | Intel Core i7-10750H | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
These are the three best laptops for playing Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on the market today, in descending order of cheapest to most expensive. All three laptops will give you the performance you need.
In fact, all three laptops have virtually the same components, with the main differences being their screens and structural designs. The MSI Leopard has a slightly better GPU, but it’s about $800 more expensive than the Acer Predator.
If you want the best bang for your buck, go for either the Acer Predator or the Razer Blade. Both of these laptops exceed even my top build’s specs, and will allow you to play Strangers of Paradise on medium to high settings.
Does Strangers of Paradise Work on Windows 10?
Yes, Strangers of Paradise will work on Windows 10. It’s predicted that you’ll need at least Windows 10 to even run the game, so don’t run anything older than Windows 10 if you hope to play this game when it releases.
Also, you’ll want the 64-bit version of either Windows 10 or 11. The 32-bit versions limit your RAM utility, and you’ll want to be able to use as much of that as you can.
How Much Space Does Strangers of Paradise Take?
While Square Enix has yet to confirm this information, it’s likely you’ll need around 110GB of available disk space to store Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. It’s unlikely that the game will need more than 125GB, but play on the safe side to avoid a last-minute hard drive upgrade.
Why is Strangers of Paradise Running So Poorly?
There are a few reasons why Strangers of Paradise might run poorly on your system. The most common cause could be that your system simply isn’t up to snuff with the demands of the game. Even if you meet the minimum spec requirements, you won’t get the best performance.
It could also be that some of your components are overheating, bottlenecking, or malfunctioning. In this case, you’ll want to run tests on your system to determine the root of the problem.
Finally, it could be a result of your game running from your HDD. Some hard drives have abominably slow transfer speeds, where an SSD would otherwise excel.
