If you’ve ever played Batman: Arkham Knight, or any of the Batman games, you know that DC video games can be grisly, action-packed, and stimulating. This holds true for what we’ve seen so far of Gotham Knights, which is set to release sometime in 2022.
Before it comes out, you’ll want to make sure that your system is up to snuff with the demands of the game. We know a little about what to expect, but Warner Bros has yet to release official system requirements, so what you see here are only predictions.
To run Gotham Knights on PC, you’ll likely need at least 8GB of RAM. We don’t know how large the game is supposed to be. You’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB or newer for your GPU. For your CPU, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-4460 or newer. Also, you’ll need to be running Windows 10 64-bit or newer.
While these are only predictions, it’s safe to assume that you’ll need those specs at a very minimum. In this article, I’ll discuss the predicted minimum specs, recommended specs, and a top build for your Gotham Knights rig.
Let’s get into it.
Minimum Part Requirements for Gotham Knights – Predicted
Memory | GPU | CPU | OS | Disk Space |
8 GB | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB | Intel Core i5-4460 | Windows 10 64-bit | TBC |
These are the predicted minimum requirements for Gotham Knights on PC. These predictions are based on what we know so far about the game, and from information released by WB.
You’ll likely need at least 8GB of RAM, but we aren’t sure yet how much disk space you’ll need available. You’ll need to be running Windows 10 64-bit or newer for certain.
You’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or newer for your GPU, and for your CPU, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-4460 or newer. While these are just predictions, it’s safe to assume you’ll need these at a minimum.
Recommended Specs and Top Build for Gotham Knights – Predicted
Memory | GPU | CPU | OS | |
Recommended | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti | Intel Core i7-5930K | Windows 10 64-bit |
Top Build | 32 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 | Intel Core i7-11700K | Windows 10 64-bit |
These are the predicted recommended specs and a potential top build for playing Gotham Knights. You’ll get a better experience with 16GB of RAM, Windows 10 64-bit, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, and an Intel Core i7-5820K.
If you want the best gaming experience, I recommend 32GB of RAM for boosted performance and speeds. I also recommend going the extra mile on your GPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 for ray-tracing and better processing power.
I think an i7 will do the trick for Gotham Knights, but go for the i7-11700K for higher performance than the 5th gen alternative.
Best Laptops for Running Gotham Knights
Laptop | Memory | GPU | CPU | OS |
ASUS TUF Gaming F17 | 8 GB | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti | Intel Core i5-10300H | Windows 11 64-bit |
ASUS ROG Strix G15 | 8 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 | AMD Ryzen 7 4800H | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
Alienware m15 R4 | 16 GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | Intel Core i7-10870H | Windows 10 Home 64-bit |
These are the best gaming laptops on the market for playing Gotham Knights. All three laptops will give you the performance level you need to run the game, but the Alienware laptop will run it the best.
The ASUS TUF is a solid gaming laptop for those that don’t make a lifestyle out of gaming, and it exceeds the predicted minimum specs on all counts other than RAM.
The ASUS ROG is a step up, with the same amount of RAM but a much better GPU and CPU combination. You’ll be able to run the game on medium-high settings, but the lack of additional RAM keeps you from getting the best experience.
The best gaming will come from the Alienware m15 R4, which has 16GB of RAM, an RTX 3060 for the GPU, and an Intel Core i7-10870H for the CPU. You’ll be able to play Gotham Knights on high settings with this laptop.
Does Gotham Knights Work on Windows 10?
Yes, Gotham Knights runs on Windows 10. In fact, it’s predicted to need Windows 10 to satisfy launch requirements, so stick with the newest Windows version you can stomach for playing Gotham Knights.
You’ll also want to make sure you’re running the 64-bit version of whichever Windows your system is running, since the 32-bit version hampers your RAM utility quite a bit.
How Much Space Does Gotham Knights Take?
We aren’t yet sure how much space Gotham Knights is going to take, but it’s safe to assume that it will be 150GB or less. No game coming out next year is predicted to need over that amount, but it promises to be a relatively large game.
Why is Gotham Knights Running So Poorly?
There are a few different reasons why Gotham Knights might run poorly on your PC. First, it could be that your system isn’t up to snuff with the demands of the game. Even if you satisfy the minimum requirements, those specs are too low to play the game on high settings or without any lag.
Second, it could be that one or several of your components are overheating, bottlenecking, or malfunctioning. Run tests on your system to determine if this is the cause.
Finally, it could be that you’ve stored the game on your HDD, which results in slower performance than games stored on an SSD.
