The Ryzen 5 3600X comes with 6/12 cores and threads to care for video editing tasks. We tested Ryzen 5 3600X for editing videos at 1080p resolution, and it was a lag-free super-fast experience. However, when we scaled the resolution up to 4K, it took some time to render videos. For example, if the 3950X takes 1 minute to render a 4K clip, the 3600X takes almost 2.5 minutes to do that.
Well, this is might be due to the fact that it has fewer cores and less clock speed than that of the most powerful Ryzen video editing processor, the 3950X. But even at 4.2 GHz and 35MB of cache, there isn’t much of a difference in speed at which this processor renders a specific video.

Although this CPU isn’t a good match for other high-performance processors on our list, it holds an important spot due to its decent specs and lower price.
We start with the 6 cores and 12 threads of this CPU. At least if we really don’t care about the rendering time, the Ryzen 5 2600X would be good enough to handle intense video editing tasks. We tested the Ryzen 5 2600X to edit a 1080p video clip on Adobe Premiere Pro. Moreover, the 4.2 GHz clock speed on this CPU is good enough to handle video editing tasks by all means.
To be honest, we haven’t noticed any delays at all. Although it took a bit more to render the video clip, we weren’t in a hurry at all to find our video export file. But when we pushed the resolution to 4K, this CPU took longer than we expected. So if 4K video editing is not your concern at all, you can pick this low-budget Ryzen processor right away.
It’s a CPU truly meant for light and simple video editing tasks only. For more intense video editing, you should consider Ryzen 9 3950X or Ryzen 7 5800X. For YouTube content creators, this low-budget Ryzen processor is no less than a blessing.

We tested this processor with Final Cut Pro X, and it took a while to render video clips at 1080p resolution. But for such a lower price, we can get along with the slow rendering time. But if you use more ram, you can edit videos at a higher resolution.
